PETRALONA CAVE
The famous Petralona Cave is located in the steps of Katsika Mount (Chalkidiki). The cave was accidentally discovered by a Greek shepherd. Further research (1960) has discovered the pre-human skull, about 700.000 years old (The oldest European Hominid) and an ancient fireplace that is considered as the oldest traces of fire known till nowadays.MOUNT ATHOS

The Ammon Zeus Temple was one of the most important ancient Greek worship sites dedicated to Zeus. It was excavated in 1969 next to Greek village Kallithea (Chalkidiki).
